Science Laboratory Safety Awareness
Last July 26, 2019, a group of individuals from Philippine Society of Academic Laboratory Technicians (PSALT) organized a seminar with the theme "A Response to the Call of Safer Science Laboratories" held at Centro Escolar University-Makati Gil Puyat Campus.

The society was founded by Mr. Arthur Alcantara, Ms. Kathleen Magno, Ms. Angelica Pobocan, Mr. Ronald Mendoza and Mrs. May Lumaban, which aims to provide a platform and network system for sharing of information, ideas and issues that is related to the work of academic laboratory technicians; identify and facilitate professional development and support to academic laboratory technicians; encourage linkages with the academic scientific community by establishing professional relationship and collaboration with other schools, government agencies, industry sector and laboratory suppliers, and; promote the best and safest laboratory practices.

Topics discussed during the seminar were updates on the existing compliance for academic laboratories, biological safety, and chemical safety.

July 6, 2019 – Third Board of Director’s Meeting. With Mrs. May Lumaban (far right). Finally, the board of directors were complete. During this meeting, the finalization of seminar preparations were made.
