Basic Laboratory Equipment Operations and Maintenance
PSALT Seminar Series is back with Series II entitled Lecture – Workshop on Basic Laboratory Equipment Operations and Maintenance held last November 28, 2019 at Far Eastern University, Sampaloc, Manila.

Participants were welcomed and inspired by Ms. Rowena Capulong Reyes, PhD, Dean, Institute of Arts and Sciences Far Eastern University
The seminar discussed the proper maintenance of balances and microscopes. These equipment were regularly used in academic institutions for laboratories for weighing and viewing microscope slides. Maintenance includes cleaning, testing functionality and troubleshooting prior to recommendation for external calibration or repair.

Mr. Darwin Consignado of Southern Metrology demonstrated the standard reference weights used to calibrate analytical balances while, Mr. Leo Lo of Quest Diagnostics demonstrated the proper maintenance of microscopes.

It was a very challenging task for the organizers coming from different institutions but they were able to put up a successful event.
